I see many posts about "can't hear my midi data sent to a vst".   I've worked out how to handle this, and most of us do, but a good "feature" would be making all this clearer.   The only way I've found to get the second output from a VSTi, like Kontakt, is to use "clone tracks" and then change the routing  ... not exactly an intuitive solution.
