I've been running CakeWalk Sonar, using Windows XP, for years, but recently my computer hard drive was destroyed beyond repair. I replaced the computer with a new one and I'm now running Windows 10, but the old version of Sonar 7 won't run.
 
1) Where can I buy CakeWalk Sonar Platinum?
2) Will it run on Windows 10?
 
I you have the answer/s/ can you post a link where I can buy the program?

Thanks, dahjah, I tried downloading it, but once I save it to my desktop and click on it, I get: 'This App can't run on your PC' 'To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher'..... I'm going to go back and see where I went wrong when downloading it....
 

Cakewalk by Bandlab is 64-bit only. Are you running 32-bit Windows, Kajun?

(1) Sonar is no longer available for sale. 
 
(2) Cakewalk by BandLab is the currently supported version of the former Cakewalk Sonar.  It will run on the 64-bit version of Windows only, including Win10.
 
Best option is to upgrade to a 64-bit version of Windows, and install Cakewalk by BandLab for free.  That includes the core features latest version of Sonar Platinum from last year, plus all updates provided by BandLab since then.  They even hired members of the former Cakewalk development team to continue with updates to the product.

As an aside to the above, 32-bit Windows on a new computer will significantly hamper it's capabilities. Can you give us the specs of your new machine?

Another aside is some 32-bit plugins won't work in 64-bit SONAR/CbB or be problematic.

Have you tried running SONAR 7 in compatibility mode for XP? I thought others have gotten it to run on Win10 this way. I would try that first.

(On a cell phone so cannot see signatures, just in case your computer specs are there.)

I've yet to find a 32-bit plugin that wasn't solved by using JBridge. 
 
BitBridge (the one that SONAR / CbB has built in) however, can be problematic.

If you do need to "upgrade" from an activated 32 bit Win10 installation to 64 bit, you should be able to do it for free, but you will need to re-install everything including the OS. This article provides the details:
