  • Deleting selection of audio or midi does not leave hole anymore

Hello smart Cakewalk people, I hope this is one of those "you did something didn't you" posts that are self inflicted and there's an easy fix.  I recently noticed that when I cut a section of an audio or midi track and delete it, everything to the right of the cut moves over and fills in the hole.  Again this is MIDI and audio.  I've tried turning snap on and off and I can't figure out what I did to cause this.   I am in track view when I do most of my work.  It doesn't seem to occur when I'm deleting notes within PRV.

As an experiment, I cut a section of an audio clip and dragged it up to the next track.  It leaves a hole in the original track, but if I slide the clipped portion left or right the original track to the right of the cut clip slides along with it.  It's like the cut section is still linked to the original?

I'm on the latest update of CW by Bandlab, and yes I'm a noob. Sorry : )

Any suggestions?

Thank you!
