Is not about composing in the Staff View, however for editing it will be much more convenient to use same editing versatility we have in PRV.

Hi. How about undocking SV / PRV, make half screen size. Open MD with SV / PRV, and adjust to fit the other. Save as screenset. Then you could switch with a keystroke. Would that work? Hope it helps.
All the best.

That's what I've done for a couple years, but it is a pain in the behind; it's really unnatural to a music reader. Nevertheless, thanks for offering the idea!

Wellp, it's nice to see I'm not the only user with this issue. And like y'all, I am NOT looking for Sonar to serve as a Finale or Sibelius. However, I do use staff view to sketch ideas and compose synth parts (which I don't want to sound like a human player). If others have shared their thoughts with Cakewalk over the years, and CW hasn't addressed it, then I'm guessing they just don't see a market for it. Shucks. Yet, to CW, I'd iterate that one of their new competitors, which is built by taking suggestions straight from users and potential buyers, DOES feature easy note-length and velocity editing in the staff view. So there must be some significant group of users out there who do want it.
