Thanks, Tim. Maybe I won't have to finish mine Tungsten/Mercury hybrid. It looks nice!
What are the "rough around the edges" parts?

Well the recording indicator that I changed to have it show the different recording states in the compact transport just had parts of the large transport buttons cut and pasted over the top of the smaller compact buttons. The positioning and size looks a bit clunky. Ideally the overlays would be either smaller or something different entirely.

Basically what I did was open up every gold graphic and change the hue to -180 degrees so it changed to blue. Worked great on single colour controls, but stuff where there was, say, a red letter or icon over the top of the original gold part, just selecting the gold and ignoring the rest so I could alter it was tricky. There was a bit of antialiasing around the different colour so if you look carefully at those controls, you can see a slight fringe left behind from the gold before it goes to the new blue colour.

It's pretty much that kind of thing. I didn't really tweak many of the non graphic colours in it either, which could have maybe used a bit more attention. The blue is perhaps just a touuuuccchhh dark too for my tastes.

But I'm nit-picking. I'm pretty happy overall how it came up. Keen to have some more free time to see how far I can go with it.

I prefer Mercury when it comes to the look but I'm big on dark themes.

I feel the same way. I'm working on bringing most of the light blue things from Mercury through to Tungsten. (Which is straightforward as you just "remove" the Tungsten elements)

Which is what I've been doing, but you do end up with some slightly unsightly graphics in places if you're not careful (ie. spend time fixing them in an image editor).

It's cool to have a play with it though.

I'm sure at some point - people who know what they're doing can come up with some nice themes - and maybe even sell them for a couple of $$ ;-)
Then we can tweak these...

I won't be able to use this fancy new package. There's too much fine work for my eyes to handle and not enough graphics chops for it to be practical. I spent a day trying it and accomplished very little. Kind of like handing a graphics artist a bag of parts and telling him he can now design and build his own amp. I could do it no problem, but the untrained would likely just burn the house down or electrocute themselves.

Okay, time for the next great idea.

Call me lazy, but I prefer spending time making music than figuring out how to change GUI colors around.
I still think this is a great add-on, though.
I'm sure some of you won't mind sharing your modded themes at some point....so I can pick and chose...

two issues for me.

when i click on the theme editor help button i get an "unmanaged exception" dialog, so i can't access the help files.

i'm trying to change the labels for the pan, volume, and gain sliders in the track view and console view, but i don't know what these are called. right now they're a medium grey against the darker bg so i can't easily see them.

I reported this. I only get the error when running the theme editor from inside SONAR. Running the theme editor from the OS loads the pdf OK. I use FireFox for pdf viewing. I am not sure if that is the cause of the failure.

I've also seen unmanaged exceptions when pressing Help inside the Theme Editor. In addition, I ran into several exceptions when saving the theme. I thought this was because the same theme was still active in Sonar, but sometimes I would get a friendly dialog box warning that the theme couldn't be saved.  I was also running the Theme Editor from inside SONAR.

Just find the pdf In C:\program files (x86)\sonar theme editor
(I'm guessing here,but it's something like that)
Then you can always have the help file open ;-)

Close, the default fully qualified name is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\SONAR Theme Editor\SONAR_Theme_Editor.pdf"

Unknowen
Hey, anyone know what file goes with custom buttons so I can make them black and not grey?
I'm guessing that it can't be done as the underlining color pallet seems to do some fine tuning of my files when I save them leaving them a lighter grey then black. Any ideas?
