Does it bug anyone else that there was no Sonar tip in this month's Sound On Sound? I've learned quite a lot from those tips.

No. 

You play bass and I play flute. We're many octaves apart but I am in agreement with you on this mate. I too was peeved that SOS left Sonar out of their monthly mix.

The feature ran long, and they had to cut something. They almost never cut the SONAR column, so I guess I was overdue to take my turn on the chopping block   It will return next month.

If one has read SOS for a number of years these things happen from time to time. Its no insult. Nothing to get excited about.

It's nothing new, this happens from time to time.
 
Just bring up previous Sonar techniques and and Tips a you will always see something you missed in the past or need to practice.
 
 

I STILL don't have a whole bunch of shortcut keys memorized, and am always fearful of hitting some nuke it all combo while sneezing, or otherwise hitting a key and profoundly changing some aspect of a project that I don't notice until at LEAST one Save has occurred.  I always back up a project file before working on that project, and I have weekly backups if needed, but there are a lot of key bindings. and I have wide hands and long fingers and I have certainly caused such project changes in the past.
 
My much shorter point is that I have been a user since the days of DOS, and I STILL have all kinds of Sonar functionality that I just don't have a solid awareness of key bindings across the board, so - I have a LOT to learn, and a lot to relearn.  I'm very happy that Sonar IS that function-rich, to where there ARE a lot of functions to learn and forget.  It keeps using it a little frustrating but a lot of satisfying fun.

I've seen the Sonar tips missing on SOS from time to time, but just figured that with your busy schedule, you might have not had time to write something. You are busy, aren't you?

Nah, I just sit around the pool all day with Trixie and Heather, drinking gin and tonics.
 
Anyway, they don't publish the column if there's a review of SONAR in the same issue, but other than that, there have been only a few cuts over the 15+ years I've been writing the columns. In fact far from ever snubbing SONAR, SOS was the first publication to recognize Cakewalk was really on to something, and enlisted me to start writing the column as soon as SONAR appeared.
