• SONAR
  • Platinum and the ACT Controller. RESOLVED!

I am using a VS-100 Audio Interface. After installing the the latest and greatest version of Sonar I headed over to the midi section to set up my PCR-800 and my VS-100. I have no problems with the PCR-100. I do have some issues with the VS-100. This audio interface has a play record and stop button on it that are midi controlled. I noticed that the VS-100 controll options are no longer in the platinum version of Sonar.

To remedy this I set up a Cakewalk Generic Surface in act but it seems buggy and it does not work well. The learn feature freezes the settings. Now I am not sure what to do. Why were the vs-100 midi controls removed? I can't seem to get this other control function to work in act. Things become grey and frozen for some reason.

Any input would be great. Thanks

I don't have the device to test, however; this appears to have a couple of solutions http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3158731

Thanks again scook,

It seems I am at a loss here. According to the thread the control feature for the VS-100 was removed in platinum, but it works under X3. So I would need to install X3 to get the control surface for act to work with my VS-100 in platinum. That kind of defeats my purpose for a clean install. Apparently reformatting the hard drive and doing a clean install was just asking for problems with this audio interface.

Now that I have a nice clean computer I am off to load an older version of Sonar so my audio interface will behave. Thanks again for your help. That's twice today you got me out of a jam.

The link http://www.rolandus.com/support/knowledge_base/201975989 in the post immediately above yours in that thread looked promising but I don't have the hardware to test it.

Hey Everyone I was able to get my V-700 control surface working in Win 10, Sonar Platnium with a clean install by downloading and running the most recent download of the control surface plug-in.

Here's the link if you want it:
