This question has become the pebble in my shoe that just wont go away no matter how many times I stop , take the shoe off , and toss the pebble . The Pebble just keeps reappearing in my shoe and it keeps causing me a foot blister
When Cakewalk announced that deal I had a feeling that I may be S .O. L. on being able to pull the trigger during the deals time window ...
I have been saving up to meet an additional financial deadline that starts Sep 1st and comes to a close in Oct ....
My new drivers license , 2 cars registrations , Smog inspections w possible repairs , 6 months up front on my Auto and Apt insurance , new yearly dog tags for the pooch , my license to pack , and a freaking partridge in a pear tree
the last one was for a dramatic relief
This outlay totals out close to 12 to 13 hundred minimum above and outside of my normal monthly expenses...
Sorry Cakewalk , as much as I would like to just buy my upgrade right now I can't , I have no wiggle room on the time line concerning the above mentioned responsibility's...
I am being forced into having to chose to take a calculated risk and play the hand I have been dealt ...
If you happen to decide you want to throw me a bone and give me the opportunity to spread out the 199 over a couple of months starting from anytime from right now I'm in ...if that is not possible
I'm gonna be OK w no hard feelings since that's the hand I was dealt ....
all the best ,
Kenny
I'm pretty much in the same boat. It would be nice if they'd extend the deadline a couple of months.
Yes I have to admit it , this is certainly a tough one
I'm not gonna tread lightly with what I'm gonna say next ....I will be as tactful and diplomatic as I can be ...
I honestly wish when Cakewalk announced the 3 month time line for the Lifetimes update deal that they would have given the folks that may have been strapped for
fluid disposable cash the opportunity to get in on the deal in the beginning in a way which they could have handled it comfortably .,
It would have been nice to have been offered a 3 part payment option , one payment for each month ....
A payment for June , a payment for July , and a payment for August .....or get it done w 2 payments
what ever This could have been a win win for all the different " levels of the customers "
and maybe even Cakewalk

Here's the Logic behind my thoughts on this ....
The "upper echelon" customers that "were the most loyal " that had the money to jump on board could pay for the Lifetime upgrade with
the absolute confidence that the offer itself was indeed
an exclusive loyalty offer
( which it still is BTW if you got the bling )
The customers that were
not as fluid financially due to what ever their particular circumstances in life may have been could have
still felt as if they were
a loyal customer had they been given the opportunity to jump on the deal in a way where they could meet their financial responsibility's in life and still get in on the deal paid for within the allotted financial time frame of June through August 31 st
Once again I like repeating myself

please bear in mind that I am still speaking from the Limited time frame of the offer ...
June through August 31 st .....
SONAR users from both
customer Loyalty camps would have not lost a thing
Why ? because regarding the cost and timeline of the upgrade there would be nothing to fight about.Disclaimer ....I'm only discussing the upgrade price not what may or may not be in the future regarding SONAR and features Guys like Bapu , Dan and others who jumped early because they could ,
IMHO are righteous enough people , it is my hope that would not be upset with guys like me who would have paid the coin within the allotted time frame ..June , to August 31 st had I been given the opportunity to have been able to have done so ....
FWIW, I would have been happy to pay a couple of dollars a month service fee for the added book keeping involved .
At my listed upgrade price of $199 I would have been happy to pay $75 dollars a month , that would have made the gross upgrade price I would have paid total at $225 dollars . I would have been totally happy to have put the extra $26 dollars service expense on my upgrade gross ...
I'm not saying all this because I like to hear the sound of my gums flapping in the breeze .....I'm saying all this because it is very possible that some people are not gonna be all that thrilled with what I'm gonna say next ...
I do hope I'm wrong with what I'm about to say next ...ssshh K.. you know that's....total BS
Come September 1 st after all the dust has settled and this thread is long gone .
I would be willing to bet that somebody that works for Cakewalk that
lives to crunch numbers may have a passing thought while they are sipping their morning cup off coffee in their Official Cakewalk coffee mug ....
A possible variation of the thought
"I wonder how many more Lifetime memberships we could have sold during our June to August 31 st customer Loyalty Promotion had we given an additional option to some of our loyal members that wanted to upgrade to Lifetime but they needed to do a few payments within the promotions time line to get it done. "
all the best ,
Kenny
