I seem to have deleted a track in the current version of my project, but an older version of the project (every time I do significant work on the song I save it to a new file) still has the track and all the takes in it.  Is there any way to copy the track and all the takes from the old version of the project and place it in the current version of the project??

Yes, you can.
Open both versions and in the File menu you can jump from one version to the other.
In this way you can copy the missing track of the older version and place it in to a new track of your last version.

With both projects open (and visible), just click/drag the track from the old version to the new

How embarrassing...it really was that simple.  Thanks to both of you for your quick responses!

However to be clear...the above applies only to copying over the clips. If you want to copy the track characteristics (panning, effects, fader level, etc.) save the track as a Track Template, then import the Track Template into the target project before copying over the audio clips themselves.
