I was doing some housekeeping and found some old .CWB files on my server. I can't open these with X2 or X1 in safe mode - nothing appears. So I thought I'd reinstall Sonar 8.5 but of course, this was an upgrade version and I don't have the previous versions for it to locate and install.

Is there anyway I can reinstall this old software? Or looking for a workaround or any help at all. Back in the day, I had full paid-for registered versions of Sonar from 3 through to X2 - still have all the registration details for those too.

Cheers,

The full versions of SONAR through 8.5 were only available on disk and as you discovered the 8.5 upgrade download requires a previous install of 8.0. The only way I know to reinstall pre-X series SONAR is from disk.

Any error messages being thrown when opening the bundles?

More likely due to plugin problems and/or missing audio files than versions of sonar.  As far as I know Sonar is fully backward compatible all versions - back not forward (Some forward compatibility is offered.)

Bundles are like zip files, one corrupted bit in the media and it won't open.

There have been several discussions in these forums about whether the bundle file is reliable or not. The file format is, but the problems generally involve people trying to open very old files, and the storage media is old as well.
