I spent many days in front of this GUI learning how to use this software.

Conclusions
Using a PIII 700 with 256M Ram and a 7,200 RPM ATA66 hard drive, I recorded 20 to 30 audio tracks in Sonar and added some effects.

I don't recall if it was during that time or before, but audio interfaces were unheard of (or prohibitively expensive as part of a "recording system").
 
I vaguely remember having a Turtle Beach Fiji (or was it Tahiti?) sound card.

I still have 8.5 installed on an old XP laptop and the first thing I notice when I open is how bright a cheery it looks compared to the new versions.. If I every have time to play with this new theme editor I'm certainly going to lighten things up a bit. I love the 2 default choices,, dark and darker..
