I'm still working on the red theme; it is a bear to work with, not the least because of the previous use of red for the recording buttons. I've made a decision not to radically change colors for the function buttons, i.e., red remains recording, yellow is staying as mute, green is solo, etc. So, the trick is to get a red that is not easily mistaken for a recording function, is muted enough to sustain work for hours at a a clip, and is yet legible. (It would also be nice if the use of said color induces a state of mind condign to composition of several works capable of being sold for sum sizable enough to ensure a very comfortable and somewhat early retirement. But I digress). This is not as easy as one might think (even without the mention of the last nicety). In colorizing the buttons, one thing is even more apparent than it's been when working on previous themes: it would be TONS easier to accomplish this theme if I knew exactly which font, bit depth, size, and attribute (BOLD, Italic) was used on the buttons so I can rewrite them in a matching style, if necessary. I've got that it's a variety of Sans Serif, that's obvious. It's pretty close to Calibri, I think, but that not quite it.
 
Has anyone here been successful in cracking this question so far, and, if so, what have you used that works? Is it a combination?
 
Any suggestions would be helpful and (very!) appreciated.

Nope, just tried it. It's very close, but no cigar. Now if I want to rewrite all the buttons in that category, it'll work fine and, I'm sure no one would be none the wiser. I might just do that. BTW, what size did you use? I tried 7 and 8. 
 
Often, I'm noticing, on a given font, many of the characters are correct and then you hit one letter that's off by one pixel and all the spacing is out-of-kilter. That might seem overly picky (and probably is), but for me, sometimes it's the difference between adjusting a couple of buttons and hoping it's consistent and rewriting the whole enchilada. Then again, if I just knew the correct font, I'd be done.

Size of the type face was different depending on the size of the graphic.
On these below I used font size 12. on post on the M. ( Arial Rounded MT )
I fly by the seat of my paints on this stuff... I remember on the [POST] button I stretched the font to get it to fit.
The M and the S I replaced but the R and W where ok when I was done. Most of the time I don't need to do any graphic edits…
For me perfict is not too much of a deal. I will go fix it later but get more done and get lucky a lot. I see my M neds a row of pixels. ha!
Most of these graphics take me a few seconds to whip out once the template is done. I think it's a new hobby. lol
 
I built the on/off ProCh buttons as a first draft but they will go soon, no point wasting too much time with graphics… I have a new gradient that I'm using now… the rest is easy. ;)

I'm kind of thinking the same: that once I get the correct font I will go and redo the buttons. And "M" has been a real pain.
