I would encourage anyone with a similar support problem to PM a member of the Cake staff. This seems to be the only way to get things moving. As I said long ago, they should be putting this support issue ahead of everything else, including monthly updates, until they get their shizzle together. This is a PR disaster that will do long term damage.
To many excuses, not enough action. Suffer they will.
Provided they have enough posts under their belt to do so (and know who to PM). When onboarding new users, they are most likely not going to think "forum," so when normal routes fail, the first thing they do when they finally do come here will be to flame. Then everyone will pile on the "one post flamer" and the rest will be public record for those who do read the forums.
