I am QUITE confused - this thread starts out with one subject line, and then Chevy's post, right above my recent reply, has a completely different subject line.

Am I needing some time off, or is anyone else seeing that with this thread?

If you go to Edit>Preferences>Audio>Playback and Recording, have you selected ASIO as your Driver Mode for Sonar?  If not, once you select it and click Apply, Sonar should look to see if there are any ASIO drivers available, and IF your Scarlett 2i2 drivers are installed and the device is plugged in and seen in Windows, Sonar should automatically select it and populate the various fields in preferences for you.

If the above is NOT what is occurring, could it be that the Scarlett 2i2 is expecting to be plugged into a USB 2 port, and perhaps you have it in a USB 3 port?  (It may well be fine with either, but certainly at one point in time, many audio interfaces freaked out when plugged into USB 3 ports).

thanks Bob...    the ASIO is indeed selected, and when I press APPLY, nothing changes.  It simply does not recognize the Scarlett driver.  On other AUDIO tabs as well, nothing shows up.  Under Driver Settings, the "ASIO Panel" button does not produce any response when clicked on.  There is just blank space when trying to get something to appear under the Timing Master as well.
Sonar just got blinders on, can't see the driver.  BUT,  my Ozone 7 works on my studio system, as does Media Player.  so the driver is indeed there, alive and well.

Yeah, well..., one thing led to the other....  ...    now I'm putting out the fire after the conversion to Win 10.

OK, problem solved...  the support guys at Focusrite are awesome.  I had to download and install Beta Driver 3.2.1 for my older gen Scarlett 2i2, and now it works on Windows 10.  Whew.

Upgraded my music laptop and my old music laptop. My work laptop isn't compatible though. So now I'm stuck with a Windows Upgrade icon on my toolbar with a yellow warning sign. I hope it goes after the deadline.

I avoided the Win 10 upgrade for the simple reason that everything was working fine.  A couple weeks ago, I turned on my computer and got the message, "welcome to Windows 10!"  I have no idea how Windows was able to do this without my permission.  I am assuming that I somehow inadvertently did something that granted the permission.

The good news is:  everything seems to be working just fine.  No problems so far.

Gary, you may have been "scheduled" for an upgrade without realizing it. I remember one day instead of just closing the box that popped up on every boot, I really looked at it and it showed a date and time for me, and I had to tell it "no, I'll schedule it later" or something.

If you decide you don't want it, you can probably still roll back, I *think* through windows update.

It's kind of dumb not to upgrade. It's like turning down a free safer car than the one you own.
No your old one isn't broken, but good luck trying to find parts for it.

I disagree. Most audio professionals are hesitant to upgrade anything right away, because they know that with new things come bugs and compatibility problems and see stability as a #1 priority. Also, if your computer is old enough, it is sometimes a very bad idea to upgrade to something designed to work with newer tech.
