Been reading stuff all morning, and can't find too much on the forum. Just wondering if anyone would have a simple answer for me about converting the sample rate for video. All my projects are recorded and mixed at 44.1/24. I export them at 16bit for CD, but mostly leave all other digital exports at 24. I am working on several music video's and have just upgraded to Premiere Pro CC, so I am still learning a lot of stuff. I know video/film work is 48k. It's not an issue for my camera, as it's just for the footage, no audio. All my audio is done in Platinum. I will consider all future projects be set at 48/24, but for now, all my mixes and masters are 44.1.
 
The question is, does exporting in 48/24, or 48/16, change anything, or make a difference, to what I import into Premiere? I have already done one video, and it did have issues on some playback devices, where the audio fell out of sync with the video, but it was never consistent enough for me to get a grasp on what the problem is/was. Would exporting at 48k be part of that reason/fix?
 
Hoping someone can help. I am at the initial stage of the next video. All footage is shot and the song mastered and ready. Any help would be appreciated. thanks. Dave.

I've never had problems using 44.1 kHz audio in 48 kHz Sony Vegas projects; it does sample rate conversion upon import, the same way SONAR does. However, unless the SRC was changed recently in Vegas, the one in SONAR gives better fidelity. So it makes more sense to export from SONAR at 48 kHz and import it into Vegas. 
 
I don't know if it's the same situation for Premier, but Adobe Audition 5.5 had excellent sample rate conversion.
 
If you export from SONAR at 48 kHz and still have sync issues, I would look for something other than sample rate conversion as the source of the problem.

Hi Craig. I never thought that Premiere would convert on import, so I will go have a look, but take your advice to convert out of Sonar.
 
Yeh, I don't think I understand the sync issues at all. Mainly because it wasn't consistent. Busy trying to learn as much as I can about formats, and uploading, which seems to be subject all of it's own.
