  • [Solved] Just Installed The Latest SPLAT But New Features Are Seemingly Missing!

Yes, the version in 'About' reflects the latest version...check.  The beautiful Tungsten theme is there...check. The Help pages describe the new features. But...I don't find the new LP-EQ nor the new multiband compressor, however, the old ones are there instead.

My initial thought was to uninstall and re-install but then I realized that I have the same issue with two separate and different computers, one an HP laptop and the other is my main DAW at the desk. It's just too coincidental to happen to two PCs to be a one-off quirk. Instead, it's a two-off load of confusion to me, leading me to think that it's something I did or didn't do or didn't read about or...?

So, what happened y'all?

The missing new EQ and compressor are the only two things I've noticed so far but there may be much more that didn't come down the pike. I did think it was a little strange that Sonar Platinum was the only program that had an orange dot next to it because I was a couple of months late on renewing...and I did the lifetime updates this time around but it seems that the only feature that got updated was the Tungsten theme. At least that's all that is visually apparent to me so far.

Did I skip a step somehow, sometime? I know the collective wisdom of this group to be to notch so any assistance with this before having to contact tech support and start a ticket would be appreciated. Thanks!

You could try and do a reset and re-scan of your VST's, it might help as it has appeared to help with others who have shown a similar problem.

Hi. If the advice Wookiee gave does not help. Have you installed the latest Engineering FX Suite? That is where the LP plugins are.
All the best.

You need to install the latest Engineering FX Suite.
In CCC under Sonar -> Right click on "Engineering FX Suite" -> select Rollback.

Thanks to all who've tried to help. Unfortunately, nothing is working for me. I always scan for new VSTs, I update everything that doesn't show a green dot in CCC on a regular basis, I've rolled back to early access, tried to install Engineering Suite manually multiple times, uninstalled the suite/re-installed, uninstalled/updated, etc., etc., etc.

Is there somewhere I'm not looking? Something I'm not doing correctly?

I've only been using Cake products for about 20 years so how can this veteran be so blind? Are these new plugs in a secret folder now?  The earlier versions of both plugs show up fine so why would they not update? Should I just uninstall Platinum completely and start over on TWO different computers that have the same problem...or is it just me, stumbling over something that's right in front of me. I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy...but I'm feeling more like the latter and stuck without a bottle. HELP!  LO freakin' L !!!

Are you using the "Default - All Plug-ins" layout and looking in the VST3 folder in the browser or VST3 submenu?

Good advice, Scook!  I was going to mention the VST3 location.  That threw me and several other forumites for a loop.  I'd bet that's the problem.  Look in the VST3 folder.

Using the "Default - All Plug-ins" layout in the browser and searching for LP may be the fastest way to find them.

Well, Hala-freakin'-leuja!!!  BINGO!

So, as per the latest recommendations, I went to the plugin manager and found a couple of VST3s that I then added to the Platinum effects folder.  I opened up a new project and there they were in all their new and shining glory.
Thanks so much scook and ricoskyl...you just prevented the last of my hair from falling out! I had looked in the VST3 folder earlier but didn't see either of those two plugs, so I suppose the reinstalling did some good as well.
Once again, and I'll say it as often as needed, this is by far the best forum in the land! You guys are awesome!

Edit:   I still have a question... Since I'm running the early access version 2016.07 the CCC shows the Engineering Suite as needing to be updated to 2016.05, which doesn't seem to make sense. Should I wait for the next update? Thanks again.
