Virus snow supports 3 stereo audio channels over USB, Kronos supports 1, Montage supports 16!
 
Is there any hardware reason why the Kronos could not also support 16 channels, it is USB 2.0 compliant.
 
Would it just need firmware and drivers modifying or is there a hardware reason why they can't have more audio channels over USB?
 

Most likely a limitation of the hardware Korg is using in the Kronos.
(The RME Fireface UFX provides 30 channels of audio I/O via USB2)
 
Keep in mind the Kronos' CPU has to generate the sounds, handle all DSP processing/routing, etc.
I doubt there's enough CPU left to route 16-32 separate channels of audio to/from USB.

Thanks Jim, that's a shame would be great to be able to have this feature.
