  • [Solved] Drum Maps Lost Port

Hi all, I just got a new Laptop and installed Sonar Platinum. I've done this numerous times over a couple decades but this time, my Drum Map, that I've been using for years, suddenly changed output port. When I change the port back and save the map, it doesn't carry over to the next project that uses the same map.
Did a search and found similar behavior with a few people from years ago, but, no solution.. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
paul

Drum maps are stored in the project and as presets on the drive. It is not clear if the maps are being saved as presets after modifying the project and if the "next project" is a new project using the newly saved preset or an existing project with the old drum map stored in it.

Are you saying you opened the preset (those are the files in your drum map folder), updated the map, saved it back as a preset and the update is not sticking? If so, are you new to Platinum?

been using cakewalk for since the pro audio days, over 20 years, been using platinum since it came out. Always upgraded upon release

sticking per project but not across the board. the project simply points to a saved drum map, as I understand it. That's the point of drum maps

As mentioned earlier, drum maps are stored in the project and stored on disk as presets. Changes made to a drum map in a project are stored in the project. To have the change saved as a preset for future use, requires the extra step of saving it as a preset. Refer to http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=0x20373. Changes to presets will not affect the drum maps used in other existing projects as the maps are stored in the project.

Could the source of the original issue be the order of the MIDI devices in TTSSEQ.ini is different than on previous setups?

scook, that's exactly what I've been thinking! i've been trying different ways of changing that order.

Being a laptop is it possible the device list changes? Either way thread may be of interest http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3399427
