Anyone else seeing anything like this?

I have a simple project with a wav file bed (bass/synth/guitar mix) and an instance of AD2 spread to individual tracks...

If I insert either of the LP plugins to any audio track, AD2 loses beats? By this I mean that only every few programmed hits sounds. If I remove the plugin all is well again...

This happens if I place the plugin on the bed or any of the audio outputs of the AD2...

That sounds odd. This isn't a solution, but can you try experimenting with different buffer sizes to see if that resolves/exacerbates the problem?

Check the sync and caches parameters in preferences.if LP is in its glutton mode( linear phase) then increasing the buffer in the file system area can help you to recover thoose lost beats.

Can you freeze AD2 first?

THanks for the time and ideas gang...

I will see if changing the buffer size has an affect... I'll be back at my DAW soon...

This machine is dual Xeon (12 core total) and 64G RAM... You'd think that would be enough? ;-)

I'll post ASAP...

Got to it faster than I thought I could... ;-)

You guts nailed it!

It took me a moment to remember the midi playback buffers as I first tried (unsuccessfully) with the audio playback buffers...

I'm not sure where the fine point is. The buffer length wa set at 250. I increased it to 500 and it appears to be running fine. I was surprised to see 250 instead of 256... ;-)

Thanks again to all of you...

The midi lookahead buffer is in milliseconds, 250 may have worked for you in slower tempo songs but not faster tempo songs, 500 should be the new default.

Thanks gustabo...

AOK... That's where I am now.

Interesting though... Until this update I had no trouble at 200...

Is there any side effect or reason not to go to 500?

Thanks

My thanks to the moderator who marked the thread solved... I was just about to do that!
