hi everyone, a week or so ago I posted a question about a noise that seems random, which means I can't seem to find what triggers it. I've been working with the techs at FOCUSRITE thinking maybe the new interface could be the problem. it's SCARLETT 2i2 however we still can't locate the problem.
I have downloaded a few diagnostic tools they recommended like latency monitors where I will run the test and then send them the results, again, can not find the problem.
I have been paying attention to what i'm doing when the noise starts, yesterday and today I have been recording very basic audio tracks, about 10 hours worth the the noise started. as I've said before, it sounds like plugging in a guitar when the amp is on and standby is off, i'm sure you know what I mean. I have also videoed what the computer, sonar and everything looks like while the noise is happening, I don't know if I can attach videos to this forum, if there is a way please let me know, or I can send them (I have 2) to anyone who is interested.
what I've noticed so far is the transport will run while the noise is happening, I can make it stop by saving (thank goodness) what i'm doing then either close the project or go to preferences.
today, i'm trying to track down what this could be and one thing I did was run the CWAFT and I see loads of things that are very old and not used. one of the things that are listed with the track name is ORPHAN. can someone tell me what that means and is it safe to delete it from inside the AUDIO FINDER TOOL??
tomorrow being Monday i'll be on the phone with Focusrite and or anyone else I can think of to figure this out.
I believe my computer specs are located in my profile so you can see what i'm using. I have no games or anything else on this machine that would take up space, I disable anti virus when running sonar. I can't think of anything more I can tell you to help understand this. what I can tell you is, I spend more time trying to figure this out then I do playing music. this sucks.
thanks so much
