The Normal Button at the bottom right of the Inspector doesn't work.  I went back one update still doesn't work.  I haven't use it for several months now.  But it did work back then.  I use it a lot and makes things faster to work with.  I can simply go back to Insert, Bank/Patch change, then normal drop down, but that is time wasted.  Why have the button if it doesn't work. Just a bug on my system anyway.  I hope it a bug and not my software.  Any ideas.  I've reported it.

OK, I'm stumped. Which button? Bottom right of the Track Inspector? What did it do when it worked?

On the left is the inspector.  These are two columns. The right column is te snap to scale, arpeggiator
at the bottom is patch browser and then the Normal button.  When I click on it, it doesn't do anything.
I can get to it at the top under Insert tab. Look down to next to last listing Bank/Patch Change.  Open that
and you get to the Bank/Select Method drop down box.  You Choose Normal, Controller 0, Controller 32, and Patch 100.
That option is also on the inspector at the bottom right.  Defaults to Normal.  I hope this helps.

Thanks,

The Help module shows this when you hover over the Normal button:

Advanced Midi Controls
This strip shows advanced Midi controls for the selected track

It doesn't do a thing on my system. What do you think it's for, or what it used to do that it doesn't now?

The value for that field is probably populated initially from the instrument definition (in the master.ins file). I wonder if it makes a difference whether the midi track has selected a defined instrument or not.

Ah, Bank Select Method. Don't think I've ever owned a hardware synth that wasn't 'Normal' so may never have touched that button in my life.

Thanks John for the Photo.  As you can see on the midi side of things.  The last button on the right is the Bank selector options.
The drop down box list Normal, Controller 0, Controller 32, or Patch 100....   When I want to switch from General Midi to use  the internal sounds of my Kurzweil Pc3x, I need to switch to Controller 32 for it to work properly.  This Bank Select Method on the left screen makes it fast to switch all of my tracks to the proper selection.  But this is the only button that doesn't work on my system.  My question is, is the problem on my end or is it a Sonar problem.  The drop down worked in the past, but doesn't work now on my system.  The button is there, so it should work.

Thanks,

You're right. It doesn't work here either. Wonder if this is just a Tungsten theme glitch?

I use instrument definitions that have the bank select method within them. This is for a Roland XV 5080 a Boss DR 770 and a SC 8850. All of them have all their patches listed in the patch widget on the other side of the inspector. In other words when I select a patch it is automatically switching using the already defined method in the In Def files.  In fact I have never used the method you use except in the very old days a long time ago and far far away. One of the reasons I went with in def files. However if I recall you should be able to set this up in the preferences. Its been years since I did any editing of the master.ini file. I use the same one I created many years ago. So its possible this done there.

I do know this you shouldn't have to select a bank select method each time you change a patch if you use an instrument def file.
