Can you revert back to an older version? I'm running Sampletank 3.35 and it is fairly stable on my system.

Well if I had that version. lol
BTW can you import Moog and Tron into 3.35?

Hi
Just had another person informed me he had six instruments Inside sampletank Playing and  miraslav playing on separate track.
Sampletank stopped and crashed .The other track kept on playing without crashing the Daw.
This happened to me with two Instruments plaing inside sampletank 3 and XLN drum and Fm8 .
Sampletank three crashing and the other two chugging along merrily.
Still waiting from IK Mukltimedia as they working on It. HOPE!!!
Sampletank makes a buzz sound blip or beep and crashes.

Hi Dave
Heard anything from IK Multimedia yet.
I have not heard from them at all this week.
It would have been nice if they said we are working on It or some aknowledgement.

HI
Since nobody else Is Interested ,I have deleted sampletank 3.66 and have just about had It up to here with It.
The program has bugs In It as there are several people with all sorts of problems with It.
Funny how all of my Vst's work flawlessly except sampletank 3.66.
IK Multimedia always answer questions with questions.
I have read a few items on their forum and a lot of problems never seem to reach a conclusion.
It has been over a week now and no aknowledgement from support.
Even Cakewalk takes over a month to reply to a support question

I have put Sonic Synth back In and Samplemoog, sampletron ,Miraslav and all play flawlessly.

You have to load all up with administrators rights  and open Sonar  with administrative rights to scan for the plugins.
After that you can open normally and all stays there..

So Sampletank 3.66 Is the big mistake and loss as is with that big expensive learning experience

Ik Multimedia use you as a Guinea pig!! Answering questions with questions and If you question that they turn to robot mode like a politician.

All the best

Since I'm just finishing adding Win 10 as a clean install, as another boot drive to WIn 7 and XP,  I'm just now able to look at this on my machine in WIN 10.

I can duplicate it but it is NOT a version (i.e., 3.66) issue - I can even duplicate it with 3.65 (didn't go back further).   And all testing I used both SampleTank 3's VST2 and VST 3 plugs.

I have a 10 part GM song ("Saturday in the Park" - Chicgao) that I've tweaked - part 10 drums are XLN AD2 drums the rest is Sampletank.  I had it as ST 2 with Omnisynth 2 (because it was GM tune and I wanted to test Omnisynth 2 - for grins).

When I loaded the IDENTICAL instruments into the same parts in ST 3 using IMPORTED Omnisynth 2 sounds the song froze/crashed Sonar at around 56 seconds (time of crash, loads, sample rates, and other "nuisance parameters" are immaterial,  as it turns out).

Trouble shooting I loaded ST3 with instruments on one track at a time and played song beginning to end.  IN MY CASE for THIS particular tune/mix, it turns out when I added the requisite Omnisynth 2 Trumpet in ST 3 part 5  it crashed.  When I put ONLY that trumpet or any Omnisynth variation of that trumpet in part/track 5 in ST3 and left everything else in ST 2 - it still crashed always at same time/place.

There was NO CPU or memory load indication that would indicate trouble preceding (this song doesn't even begin to tax my system:  i7-2600k with 32  GB ram and 12 TB's of high speed server HDD's)

It turns out when I use that trumpet ELSEWHERE no issues (e.g., say in lieu of the piano or bass), when I put other trumpets from other library's (ST3 native, ST2 XL, other add-ons) in that part no issues.

So it seems to be a ST 3 issue with a combination of: certain instrument and sample sets and HOW they get utilized dynamically (FX, macros, etc.) so it will be hard to isolate.

I need to go back and RE-IMPORT Omnisynth 2 just to ensure that instrument and its sample didn’t get corrupted at import.

I will also go over now and try Mixcraft 7 and Reaper and see if I can duplicate this there. Then I will go to IK forum and post.

You are NOT ALONE

Hi Blues player

I have dumped Sampletank 3 completely as there are too many Issues with it.
It does seem from most people that there Is issues with Instruments and combinations. They have got a lot of crossover problems with their sounds and it seems to me that there Is not enough care taken in that department.
In my case Sampletank is  making a beep and cutting out every time I put an Instrument In.Buffers ,tried all settings ,no good.

I put Sampletron ,Sonic Synth,Miraslav and Sample moog back In separately using Admin rights to load and scan .
They all work 100% and not a dickie bird of a problem In my Win 10, I7, 12 gig machine.
I can do away with sampletank as I have the Arturia and Korg collection and Fm8.
I have not had any aknowledgements from IK Multimedia support and for me that's It.
My system Is 100% and now I have taken a system image of everything and now will get on and get some music done.checked machine and all Is ok and the reliability factor is going up every day now.At last no maintainance.

We all should ask for a refund on this unstable vst and also have a  revolution on having to pay again for sounds you have already purchased.

If you post to Ik Multimedia support they will answer your questions with questions and that Is if you get a reply.
They reply a couple of times and then cut you off.Just look at a few forum comments. They never seem to conclude!!
I am sure they are using us as Beta testers  and that I despise.

hello, sorry for the delay.. NO internet for a week. (nice brake) ha!

Anyway I am still working with Ik as far as I know BUT I was trying a few other ideas. and a new install worked in standalone with directsound selected and it worked with MME in Sonar. The problem now seems to be ASIO drivers...
Before reinstall:
1. Uninstall sampletank 3 from your computer, then 2. Click on start, then run or search, then type "regedit"
3. Now you will be in the system registry editor. You should see the screen split into 2 halves. On the left you should see about 6 folders. Click once on the top folder which is HKEY_Classes_Root.
4. Now go to edit at the top, then find. Now what you want to do is search for the word sampletank 3 and DELETE everytime it stops and finds something that matches it.

When installing you need to be in Admin...

I sent massage about ASIO to IK... still waiting....

Hi Dave

I have had a look in the root folder and nothing In my list points to IK  or Sampletank.
I have uninstalled it and will not put It back until IK Multimedia have a definite solution to the problem.
Nearly two weeks now and I have not heard a peep from IK Multimedia.
My machine Is running like a dream at the moment and even put back Samplemoog,Sonic Synth, Miraslav and M-Tron.
The I7 computer with 12 gig ram  Is going great without Sampletank messing the system up.
There Is definitely something wrong with sampletank 3.65 and 66.
I wonder when IK MUltimedia will aknowledge the problem and stop answering questions with questions, also resonding to a message to say they are working on It.
No joy yet!!.

All the best
John
