the other controls record punch in/record punchout

I use the FCB1010 (another B brand chinese junk) which actually works quite well if you replace the eprom with one that a guy from belgium sells. I configured the FCB1010 to be my hands-free remote from the live room i.e. when recording it can handle transport buttons, record, undo, jump to markers, mutes certain tracks, ... and when song-writing, jamming, rehearsing it triggers the matrix, handles transport and mutes ... really handy toy, but cheap & chunky & a nightmare to figure in the first place ...
 
This one is connected solely via MIDI and it does interfere with the other interface, kicking the MCUs or VSs out of order, until you push P (for prefs) and OK to close again ... something I can live with, though ...

Mackie Control Universal Pro. And love it. I only use the basic features but even just those few little functions has made using a DAW enjoyable again.
