Not to interfere with this cool thread here, but you Sir, (said with a salute) are a maniac! Hahaha! I read that whole thread from the time the idea of the poster hit you like a ton of bricks, to completion. That was a really awesome read as well as seeing how you did it all and shared how it came together. Really fine work, bitman. I wish you lived closer to me, I'd pay to have you build me one just like yours. I have nothing in my little man cave and have been looking for something for a long time now.
I had the coolest little thing that worked perfect for me. No mechanized faders or anything, but JL Cooper made this little mini desk. I still have it here and it was beautiful for what it was. 32 channels...smaller than a piece of paper. Wait, let me find it.
Unfortunately, the XP midi driver for it will not work in Win 7. I even begged the company to update the driver for me and offered to pay them. It's probably so easy for a code guy to do. It made me want to try and learn code because I'm so bummed that I can't use this piece.
Anyway, I just wanted to give you props for your awesome accomplishment. It was great to see a Sonar brother shining over at GS where people were kind enough to praise you without knocking you down or competing with you.
In regards to the thread: I use a Tranzport CS in my man cave, but only for my drums since it's wireless. No reason to really use it at my mixing desk as it doesn't really give me enough options...but it sure is cool.
At my real studio, we're using a Tascam DM 4800 console in our main room which joins up with Sonar perfectly. In our B room we have the Mackie Control Universe with the extenders. No issues with it at all with Sonar or anything else we use.
