Hi Peeps,
 
And in particular Geoff and Alexey, who I know raised this point in another topic recently.
 
I asked the question over at the PreSonus website, although I have no idea what it is all about. It was more, for me, to check if it was okay for a non-customer could raise a question.
 
Anyway, I have now had that question answered, here:-

That is logical.
 
DAWs from companies with own controllers do not want to risk loosing hardware sales.
 
Cakewalk had no devices, so opened API. Updated it when Roland V was obsolete.
 
Presonus and Steinberg have own devices.
 
Tracktion and Bitwig cooperate with particular producers, so no API.
 
Cockos has no devices, so it has API.
 
Mixcraft could probably benefit from that, but they do not want.
