Hi Gang...

...just me again with another issue while tweaking the new DAW...

I no longer have the sample sounds for AD2 available for the PRV.

It's always been a bit of a pain as the selection does not stick, but I could select the AD2 key assigns (replacing the keyboard)...

It is not available right now... Did I have to import that? If so, where can I find the list?

Did it get installed with AD and not AD2? I really don't remember.... <sigh>

Much thanks...

Bump!

Someone out there must know how to get this added...

I hope you notice this thread and can point me soon... ;-)

Thanks...

I'm not looking for a drum map... I'm looking for the sample names to appear in place of the keyboard.

This was working on my last DAW, but I don't recall how it got there...

I will checkout your link l8r when on a real PC (iPad right now)...

Thanks again!

The second link then.
You used a file from someone else before, this one was hand-written by be. But in case you use AD2 "standard" (default) mapping, the result should be the same.

Thanks azslow...

But this isn't what I was looking for. Both are about using drum maps...

If you right click on the keyboard in PRV, a popup window appears that allows for selection of other layouts for the keyboard... Not using a drum map...

Oops! I just saw that the second link you're referring to (I missed it) is to an ins file... I think that's what I'm looking for...

Thanks again!

I'm pretty sure you need a drum map for that.

Or by importing the ins-file azslow3 linked to. It can after this be selected by right-clicking keyboard and choosing it as alternative note names.

Correct...

If you add the instrument Definition for AD2, you can also get names replacing the keys (without mute/solo etc) by right clicking on the vertical keyboard and selecting use these names instead... and selecting AD2...

But for this to work, you have to import the AD2 standard.ins file (link provided above), go to Preferences|instruments|Define|Import adn select the AD2 standard.ins file...

I don't know at the moment if Sonar is currently retaining the setting... For as long as I can remember, I have to continually repeat the selection process everytime I open the PRV, but someday..... ;-)

The map is more consistent in this aspect, but it displays notes as one-shot events (no durations) and I do occassionally use the note lengths when choke isn't available (and if the ability to disable one shot is available)... Not often, but it happens, so I want the ins file (now installed and working on my machine)

I have also added the drum map as it is consistent and occassionally the solo/mute buttons can be handy too!

Many thanks for the responses and quick links to all these items above!

To view note durations in the Drum Grid Pane, select "Show Durations in Drum Grid" in the PRV Notes menu
