Awesome customised presets form you guys... you have no idea how helpful these are and how much it teaches us to play around with this great DAW. Thanks :)

When I open the preset folder on the ProChannel it takes me to
C:\Users\Tom Deering\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Sonar X1 Producer
then I have to open the folder I created called "ProChannel Presets"
When I open "Preferences">"Folder Locations" I can't find a way to specify a path for ProChannel.
Since I DO NOT want a bunch of random pcp files in "Sonar X1 Producer" and I prefer to keep all saved data off the "C" drive, how do I change the path for ProChannel presets?
Think about it, if you've saved any presets to the "C" drive since your last Image and you have to roll back, you're screwed.
If you want to backup your presets and they are in the "X1 Producer" folder, along with everything else that resides there, you have to select each one individually...

Andrew?
Brandon?

Thanks

What you want to do requires a registry edit.   It's always a good idea to backup your registry prior to making any changes just in case.  IF you are comfortable editing your registry, then follow these steps (if not, then don't try it).

1. Click on the "Start" button.
2. In the Search Programs and Files box type regedit.  This opens the Registry Editor.
3. Working within the left window of the registry editor, expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER
4. Expand Software
5. Expand Cakewalk Music Software
6. Expand SONAR Producer
7. Expand X1
8. Highlight UserPaths
9. Within the right window of the registry editor, highlight ProChannelStripPresetFolder, right click on it and select Modify.
10. An Edit String window/box opens up.  Under Value Data is where you edit the path for the ProChannel presets.
11. When finished click Done and close out the Registry Editor.

You should now be able to click on the ProChannel presets folder within Sonar and be taken directly to your preferred presets location.

Karl,
Edit went smooth.
Thanks a lot.
Love the Hammond? on "If I could I would" BTW.

DeeringAmps,

Glad to hear that edit worked for you.

Thanks for the listen.  I wish it was a Hammond, but no, it's modeled.

Thanks. Love having good presets as a starting point. Makes life so much easier for us part-timers/hobbyists that don't have the time to learn as much as we would like. Well done! And thanks also, for the link to the FX chains presets. I had missed those too. Cheers, Bud

I wanted to slap some fools for complaining. This is free stuff, and Brandon gave a very valid reason for the way it is set up.

Cheers,

Lance

Thanks - this was timely as I'd recently been looking through the Pro Ch settings used on the Floatin' demo as I like those sounds.  It's good to have this range of similar options (and others) to load in.
