  • TS-64 Transient Shaper suddenly went missing. Help!

For some reason, I no longer have access to TS-64. I try to open it and all I get is a box that says it is missing or not installed correctly. It has always worked in the past. Any idea how/where I can re-install it from?

No suggestions? Anyone?

If I got that error I would locate the TransientShaper folder that contains the .dll and resource folder and make sure it exists in a VST scan path and that it is being scanned properly. I'd also look for duplicates in any other VST scan paths that may be complicating things.

It's a part of the Boutique FX suite and the last time I ran that installer it didn't give me an option to do a custom install to only select the TS-64 but might be worth a try if everything else checks out.
:Edited to correct - even though I knew it was part of the Boutique suite I typed Engineering suite instead

More data would be helpful. For example does "worked in the past" mean before doing an update, or an hour ago? If the former, it could be a reset AND rescan issue, but it's impossible to tell.

I tried putting the Transient shaper on a bus and I also get the message that it is missing.  This is on a fully patched Windows 7 32bit machine with 4 gig ram running version 21.4.00 build 30 of Sonar Platinum

The file definitely exists in my VST path.  I have done a rescan of VSTs with both "re-scan of failed plugins" and "re-scan of exisiting plugins" options checked.  I even tried deleting the TransientShaper folder from the vst folder and reinstalling the "Boutique Suite" (which the Transient Shaper is part of) and performing another rescan as before (i.e. with both "re-scan of failed plugins" and "re-scan of existing plugins" options checked)

When inserting the plugin I get "The following VST plug-in failed to load" and the full path of the DLL (which does match the actual full path of the VST)

Then I get the error message "Cakewalk Missing Plug-in Stand-In"

Also, in the cakewalk plug-in manager, I select the TS64_TransientShaper, yet there is no entry in the Vendor or VST ID:.  However, I go to the relevant part in the registry and both those fields have entries.  I also notice that the DOS name is correct in the registry (The DOS name is TS64_Tra)

Wow! promidi beat me to the details and his are the same as what I am seeing here. As to when it went missing.... hard to say since it's not something I use every day but, I'm sure I used it after the Dorchester update.

I just checked it out with SONAR Platinum, same build, Windows 7, however my system is 64-bit and the TS-64 shows up in both tracks and buses.

You mentioned doing a re-scan, but did you do a reset and re-scan? Choose Edit > Preferences > VST Settings and under Scan Options, click on Reset. Then re-scan. Circle back and let us know if that worked for you or not.

Thanks Craig. Personally, I only did a rescan, not a reset. I will do that later today and see what happens.

If it solves that problem, it will also probably solve some problems you may not have encountered yet.

The plug in manager is a fickle beast. I installed 1 new plug yesterday that had 2 versions. After the scan it told me it had found 60 new plugs but the count only incremented by 2.
