I just upgraded to the lastest cut of Artist and now it hangs completely when opening old projects. So bad, the only way to close it is to hard boot the PC. Everything was working fine, exept I sometimes experiece crashes when opening old projects. It's usually just opening Artist again and loading the project, but not I can't open anything. I've tried removing plugins I don't need. Anybody experienced this ?

Try opening the projects in safe mode. This is done by holding the SHIFT key while opening the project.

What did you "upgrade" from?  An upgrade would be from an older version like X3. Did you have Artist before and just ran the CCC to "update"?
If it was an upgrade and the old version of Sonar is still installed then try opening the project there first.

If this is just an update, then something might have gone wrong with the download.

And don't forget to pay attention to installing 32 or 64 bit versions which is important for plug in management.

Yeah that works, by excluding all plugins.

I just went from 2016.5 to 2016.6, but it seems that it might be my CPU, as there are other programs, that gives my issues. Just odd that it happens right after the install of 2016.6.

OK, so now it is a process of finding the troublemaker(s). The best candidates are older plug-ins.

No, actually it's all of my Native plugins that won't work. Even outside Sonar. There are other programs, like MS word, that won't start either. The PC won't close or restart, unless hard reset.

This does not read like a SONAR update related issue. Possibly an OS update or system failure. May want to look at the windows logs.

I'm beginning to think so, unless it's something installed WITH Artist, like C++2015. I've tried to uninstall it and resinstalled 2015.5, but so far no different. The Windows logs won't open and neither will the settings tab.

IIRC, the runtime stuff was updated with 2016.03. That and plenty of users have already updated to 2016.06 who rely on NI plug-ins. This is the first report of such a catastrophic failure.
