Sonar has its newest user - I bit the bullet and purchased Sonar Lifetime a few minutes ago as my first DAW. Some of you may remember I started a thread a few weeks ago asking some very basic questions about keyboards and home recording. The thread dragged on for several pages because so many of you were kind enough with your time to answer my many questions.
Quite honestly, Cakewalk wasn't even on my radar (I was trying to decide between Studio One and Reaper) until they announced the Lifetime updates. Clearly, Splat is more than I will ever need, but purchasing once forever (however long that may be) appealed to me. The great help I received from this forum made the decision easy.
Someone suggested purchasing a Tascam interface to get the SonarLE, saving me money on SPLAT. That did work like a charm, so thank you. Using the July4th coupon, I was also able to get the Rapture Pro and ZTA Bundle for $50 - seemed like a decent enough deal to me. So, I think I am set for a long time.
I also purchased the Sonar training series on Groove3 (also due to a suggestion on this forum). I look forward to spending time to learn about Sonar and recording. I apologize in advance for all the uber basic questions I'm sure I will be asking.
I'll start with one - in my Command Center now, I have 3 "Raptures" listed - "Rapture Session", "Rapture Pro", and "Rapture." Since I purchased the Rapture Pro, I assume this is the one I should install, and not install "Rapture Session" or "Rapture" - correct?
Again, thank you all for your help. I'm excited about Sonar.
