Jeez, I'm still stumbling along with my hybrid VS-700 system. 

For the time being, I'm going to be using my VS-700C but with the new interface. Gonna see if I have any issues but need to install the drivers for the stand alone console and hook up USB. I have yet to dins a controller that I like as much as this one design wise. The Mackie Control Universal Pro looks really nice though. I might upgrade to that one once I sell off my 700 system.

 I think 2270$ is inexpensive for 16 faders compared to Avid Pro Tools S3 over 5.000 $ with also 16 faders.

I looked at that one before. If it does work it would be under Mackie control. Not really worth the price they want being built for a different DAW and having loss of intended functions.
