I just
updated an existing Win10 install, and it changed the ID again. It also made me go through all the original configuration questions and manually turn off all the info sharing features and stop it from changing default program for photos, music, browsing, etc. again.
Win10 is proving to be a real PITA in many ways. Still missing Aero Glass; Feels like I'm back in Win98.
The update also scared the crap out of me by saying it was done, and then showing me an ominously plain, black, unresponsive screen with the message "All your files are still where you left them..." while the hard drive whirred away for nearly two minutes.
I kept waiting for the punchline: "...but they've been locked, and you'll have to pay $1000 to get them back. Welcome to the Win10 Update Ransomeware Trojan!"
Not cool. That feeling tells me I need to increase the frequency of my backups.
