Been out of commission for a while with the Texas Flooding and getting back to updating all the music software. I also upgraded to Win10. When I scan the VSTs, I get an error for the Addictive drums 2 saying it is the wrong computer ID.

How can I reset that and get it to scan correctly? I use Toontrack predominantly, but my OCD won't let this go. :)

thoughts?

Hi. Go to XLN, and log into your account. Remove your old pc, and add a new one. Windows 10 changes the ID, if I am not mistaken.
All the best.

that worked and yes, Win10 was the reason that it changed. Appreciate the help Ken :)

Hmm, I just upgraded to 10 yesterday and have not opened Sonar yet. Glad I read this. Any other surprises that happen? Melodyne?

I did download the latest version of Melodyne from Celemony, when doing a fresh install just a few days ago. I had already "installed" Melodyne in CCC, so I am not sure if that makes a difference? No surprises on my end.
Went even smoother this time

I just updated an existing Win10 install, and it changed the ID again. It also made me go through all the original configuration questions and manually turn off all the info sharing features and stop it from changing default program for photos, music, browsing, etc. again.

Win10 is proving to be a real PITA in many ways. Still missing Aero Glass; Feels like I'm back in Win98.

The update also scared the crap out of me by saying it was done, and then showing me an ominously plain, black, unresponsive screen with the message "All your files are still where you left them..." while the hard drive whirred away for nearly two minutes.

I kept waiting for the punchline: "...but they've been locked, and you'll have to pay $1000 to get them back. Welcome to the Win10 Update Ransomeware Trojan!"

Not cool. That feeling tells me I need to increase the frequency of my backups.

Yea, I had that happen to me too, but it happened in a different way.  I built the computer with Windows 8 and then upgraded to Windows 10.  I then installed Sonar and activated all of my Plugs and synths that needed activation.   about 3 months later I got the Addictive Drums error message.

I did an upgrade install. If you have Finale be sure to deauthorize since you will be stuck calling the 800 number.
