Now I have a master & a backup PC the vst in question is in exactly the same location "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vst Plugins\SONiVOX\DviMellotron_x64.dll". I can play it in standalone mode and other software picks it up in a vst scan on both PC's but for some reason Sonar does not see it on backup PC yet it finds everything else in the folder?

Unfortuantely due to a windows issue with a keyboard driver on Windows 10 I am having to failover to backup PC but as luck would have it the project I am working requires that VST.

Any ideas?

Hi. I would check the Plugin Manager (right click in the fx bin), to see if the plugin could be excluded. Or do a vst reset and rescan, and check scan failed and existing plugins (preferences (P), File, Vst Settings).
All the best.

you should probably list the name of the plug in rather then just a path so users don't have to go searching like I did.
Here's what I found:
I believe that plug in is not compatible in windows 10

Already checked it has not been excluded but resisting a reset as it has taken me considerable time to set plug-in map to my liking and I suspect I will lose it all if I reset. Although having said that in theory I can just use the plug-in map again as its been saved so should only be missing the one vst.

Thanks for your suggestion it has made me think again

Well it works perfectly well in standlone mode and inside VIP on both PC's, and in Sonar on main PC so it looks compatible to me. Both PC's are at the same version of windows build so my guess is they haven't updated their compatibility list which as it's SONIVOX doesn't surprise me.
In any case I could just change the the plug-in to run in a different compatability mode what it doesn't explain is why SONAR on one PC is just not seeing it. It's not excluded or anything as I have checked with the menumagic plug-in manager utility (usefull tool).

nothing will be reset in your plug in map by doing a reset. all it does it reset the plug in scanner. not your settings or maps (layouts).
