  • Can no longer use CCC to download and install SPLAT updates...

For the last three updates I haven't been able to use the Command Center to install them on my DAW.  They download fine but as soon as they start to install I get a Windows pop up dialog asking if I want to install SPLAT and no matter how I answer it the CCC install crashes and pops up an error dialog.  If I try to just ignore it the update never installs.

If I just go to my account at Cake and download the updates myself and install I have no problems at all.  But the CCC no longer likes my DAW.

Any suggestions?

Hi. Have you tried to logout and log in again from CCC?
All the best.

Did you download the latest version of CCC?

Did you do a restart afterwards?

And I still can't use the CCC to update or install. Imagine that.

Exactly what does this "pop up dialog" say?

Yeah - I too am quite curious to know exactly what the error message says.

I wonder if something else is interfering with it all - like maybe your antivirus software, or something like that.  What antivirus software do you use, and have you tried temporarily suspending it just before running CCC and a Sonar install attempt?

Hopefully, the error message(s) may contain one or more clues as to what is happening.  It sure seems like something quite local to your system, since there aren't a bunch of folks complaining about CCC failures and issues like what you are having.  There doesn't seem like there is too much to set or configure to use the CCC, so this shouldn't (I hope) take too much digging and tweaking to get it to work properly.

It is a typical windows dialog as when installing the software yourself and not through the CCC.  It's as if both the CCC and Windows are trying to install the software at the same time but Windows is winning the battle.  If I download the update directly from my account at Cake and install it directly through Windows I get the very same dialog(s).  Only then the update installs fine.  It's like either something in either the CCC or my Win7 is not reading correctly with the other installer.

I had a somewhat similar problem some months back, albeit without the error message.  CCC would just sit there at 0% download progress.  I uninstalled Command Center, Downloaded the latest version and installed that, and that seemed to fix it for me.  Uninstalling the old was the key.
