  • [Solved] Unable to type in negative numbers... Am I missing something?

Hi, guys. I'm working on a project right now, making some EQ adjustments in the ProChannel, and I noticed that I am unable to type in a negative value (for a cut in a frequency's gain, for example). Double-clicking the number field and pressing the "-" key only decreases the current value by one dB. So if I type "-3" for instance, I'll end up with +3, as the program interprets the "-" as a decrease of one dB, and then the "3" as just plain 3 (+).

Am I missing something here? Is Sonar not programmed to accept negative numbers upon keyboard entry? If not, why? In a field of work where cuts are often key, you'd think negative value entry would be seamless and second nature...

Hopefully I'm just overlooking something simple and can be straightened out by one of you more knowledgeable folks, though. Either way, any input is appreciated.

Thanks!

Works the same as you describe here. You can keep hitting ' - ' and it goes down by 1db every keypress.

Try the minus key on the typewriter keyboard (the key to the right of the zero). The plus and minus on the numeric keypad operate the spinner controls.

Thank you, scook! A lifesaver, once again.

(Though I personally wish the controls operated the other way around. It's so much quicker for me to enter positive or negative numbers on the num pad.)

Can be done with autohotkey
The script to swap those keys is:

NumpadAdd::+
+::NumpadAdd
NumpadSub::-
-::NumpadSub

Thanks for the suggestion
