Hi
I have a little problem with Sampletank 3 latest update.

I can record or play for a good while and then It just cuts off no sound and box appears saying close  and a solution may be found ,but nothing sonar disappears also and have to start again.
I have even increased the buffers but no luck.
All other synths seem ok at this moment, just Sampletank.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me

All the best
John

Hi John,
I haven't noticed that behavior here. Are you using the VST3 version? If so I'd try out the VST2 version instead. The last time I tried the VST3 version (which was, admittedly, some time ago) it was not well behaved.

Hi I too have installed the latest update and have a similar problem.. had it with the previous revision too.. Sonar.exe stops and the program exits. It has been behaving itself quite well in the last few days...but the audio will at times garble or start garbling and so I reach for the close button as quick as possible.... I'm running the VST2 version after reading comments on various forums. Changing buffer sizes doesn't seem to help. All my Cakewalk Virtual instruments and Toontrack stuff works just fine. I am running an old trusty EMU 1820 M card with its 64 bit ASIO driver.

hi figuly

I have a good I7 computer  and after as I said 3 minutes or so the  sound cuts off and tells me to close box and when doing so Sonar disappears out of sight I start sonar up again and the same again
All my other stuff works flawlessly.Earlier I had a runtime error and cannot figure that one out ,but I uninstalledthe shell of Sampletank and re- Installed and that did not come back with runtime error code again.
This Is o annoying to me as I have Miraslav etc Integrated.

I also have Miroslav running in Sampletank. I tried the VST3 version first but that didn't work so I tried the VST2 version and it works beautifully. I have also successfully run Miroslav with JBridge in the past which runs a 32bit plugin in a 64bit app, like Miroslav in Sonar.

Sampletank Is a complicated bit of rubbish
All other synths Artura, Korg, image line synth's,Abysynth,Fm8 work a dream.
I have now cut my losses with this  and deleted It off of my system including reg values and everything else now is running lightning fast
i have renamed It Sceptic Tank or septic Tank!!

All works in Sonar platinum now and even in my old Mixcraft Daw and that told me there is something wrong inside sampletank.
I shall write to them ,but probably get an answer In a years time.

I too had massive problems with ST3.  I uninstalled all of it and just reinstalled VST2.  It runs better, but is still a problem.  I don't blame you for bailing out.

By the way Is a Rorshach a blue pill????

Hi John,
Totally understand about arriving at the point where you DGAF. That said, if you get to a point where you want to try one last thing, check to make sure you do not have the VST3 migration options checked. Under Preferences, File, VST settings there are two check boxes relating to VST3. I'd make sure both are unchecked and then try to load the VST2 version of SampleTank. Might work a little better.

OTOH, if it isn't worth the extra blood pressure, probably best to chalk it up to an expensive learning experience. Heaven knows I've been there.

Good luck,
Dean
