I'm attempting to load an instrument into Kontakt 5 (I'm using Sonar X2 Producer) however I'm receiving an error message saying 'File not found. Please make sure that external drives are connected!'.
 
My external drive containing Kontakt samples is connected so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here.
 
Can anyone help, please?

If it's saying "file not found" possibly the database needs an update in Kontakt.  You can find it in Options. (The cog wheel up top on Kontakt)  There is an "update" button on the database tab.  You didn't say what library you were trying to load and where your trying to load it from so I'm guessing here.
 
You also might check to make sure the external drive isn't being turned off in power management.
 
All kinds of other things to try depending on what exactly your trying to load.  If that doesn't help, a couple more details would be helpful.

I'm referring to the Kontakt Factory Library.
 
I tried the update in Options as you suggested but I think the problem was that I didn't have the correct path selected so Kontakt could find my factory library. Seems to be working now.
