is it only me or also other Sonar users think, that the default Track color is "more black" than "black" color of a new track?

No.1 is a default track color - black in TV bud ugly gray in CV
No.2 is a track with black color selected from the palette. Dark gray in TV and the same color in CV.
 
Why we cannot have a real black in both TV and CV? Why is the default color different in CV and TV???

That is because Sonar's GUI designers are professionals, and they know better than you and other users, what design and colors everybody needs. That's why you are strongly limited with color options you have. Don't you see that colors are ideal, and never can be improved?

I think we need to have a HUGE conversation on what sort of blacks are acceptable and what are not. Colour? Nope you've lost me ;).

Colors will be always a matter of choice/taste and no one will be ever happy with a default look. But I know that developers in CW are good enough to implement such a GUI where we could change colors to our taste.
 
In case of track strips I see the current limitation in the "db scale" next to the fader. It has a fixed color (ugly gray) and it may get easily lost if the background is too dark.

x series gui also no longer supports high contrast or the windows screen reader thing for vision-impaired users (or has that been corrected since x1?)
