Hi Everyone ,

when i insert a kontakt 5 16 out through platinum , then in kontakt 5 assign 8 stereo outputs there is a error in the platinum output drop down ,

Does anyone have any idea what this might be , seems to be from output 6 upwards.

oh yes i have reinstalled both platinum including a roll back then forward and kontakt 5 also which made no difference

This problem is not from SONAR PLATINUM,is a problem of KONTAKT8.dll and KONTAKT16.dll

In sonar you must use KONTAKT.DLL ONLY
And inside of kontkat (in kontakt mixer output section)you can assing outputs for all 16 stereo channels or 32 mono channels.

I have kontakt 5 and platinum demo and have no problems.

PD:sorry for my english. ;)

Make sure that you don't assign the Aux Channels in Kontakt (aux1 - aux4) to outputs already in use.
In your case the aux channels 1 -3  are routed to outputs 11/12 - 15/16, which are already outputs of st.6 - st.8.

If you don't need the aux channels in Kontakt, leave them unassigned ("-- not connected --").

If you do need them and also need more than 4 stereo outputs per Kontakt instance, choose the Kontakt 5 64 version with 32 stereo outputs.

Best,
Klaus

I did try to do that after that photo and it made no difference ,

I will try with the kontakt .dll tomorrow and assign the outputs and add midi and primary channels individually you to see if that actually works ! Hope so(: oh yeah if it does then I will just save as a template in platinum .

I have had no issue with the kontakt 8 dll using both 4 stereo channels or 8 mono channels . Also it seems to be fine using the kontakt 16 dll also with 16 mono channels ,

Thanks

Did you save and restart SONAR after you made the changes?
Every change to the output channel assignments in Kontakt requires a restart (normally Kontakt prompts a notification to do this).
To avoid this, I would recommend making output presets inside Kontakt first:
Preset / Batch configuration>Save output section preset as...

so my kontakt.dll was actually my 16 stereo/32 mono
and my kontakt 16.dll out is my 16 mono/ 8 stereo
and my kontakt 8.dll is 8 mono/4 stereo

No matter what i do the only one that displays properly the outputs is kontakt 8 out , it seems that after
4 Left
4 Right
4 Stereo
it goes crazy
5 Left
6 Right ( THIS SHOULD BE 5 NOT 6 )
5 Stereo
and it just gets worse from here
There is a work around though , i have loaded Vienna ensemble pro with 32 outputs , then loaded kontakt 16 stereo inside Vienna and everything works perfectly. I just want to add also Vienna ensemble pro is extremely stable by my past experience . so now i have 3x kontakt loaded in my project at present , so task manager shows 45% CPU and 62% memory with this project.
i am going to remove all 3 instances of kontakt and add them one instance inside Vienna and see if the CPU and memory drops , this will tell me if Vienna is a CPU saver or hog , which i am keen to find out.

Thanks

For all kinds of details related to Kontakt outputs (especially if you want to use more than one) - Seth made this really helpful tutorial a while back.
