  • PRV questions: Vertical lines at the beginning of notes, Selection window selects too much

#1:
On my Sonar X3 Piano Roll view, I have vertical lines at the beginning of each note. The vertical lines are the Track Color I've assigned, they're all the same height, and they don't seem to respond to mouse functions. What are these lines, and how do I remove them?

Toggling any of the options in the PRV's little Notes and Controllers drop-down menus doesn't seem to do anything.

#2:
[Using the Smart Tool] Dragging over a few notes selects all the notes in that height of my selection, rather than just the selected notes. Why is it doing this, and how do I revert my selection to just the selection?

Thanks in advance! :)

To expand on what Johnny posted, showing controller lanes will move the velocity lines that are currently showing in the Notes pane to a controller lane. If they're shown in the notes pane because controller lanes are closed, and you have the following key in the Windows Registry set to 1 (should be nonexistent or 0 by default), lasso-selecting  velocity lines will select their associated notes.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\X3 > AllowLassoVelInNotesPane

Thank you both for the solution.
Could you possibly assist with #2, by any chance? In PRV, I was trying to select two notes (click-hold & drag), but when I released the mouse button, all notes in the height of that selection window were selected.

Thanks for the explanation on the Velocity vs. Controller pane. I suddenly recognized this after I might've accidentally closed the Controller Pane. However, I was going to check that registry key but the one you posted is not for my version of Sonar. I have Sonar X3 (2013).
