Get a Trigger Finger by Korg as well and you will be blown away. Then get BFD when yuo are ready for some awesome real drum sounds ... they make a killer source for you to sample from and create your own soundset within Guru.

What would you use Guru for?

Is it for included sounds or midifiles or what? Don't really get it when you're talking about adding your own samples or BFD ...

Don't mean to offend anyone, just looking for the reason.

P5 + Velocity

Sonar's step sequencer + Battery 3. If need be, create custom kits from your own or 3rd party samples. I think some of the major hip-hop drum sample companies offer kits in Battery 3 format. This would be www.mpc-samples.com and www.gotchanoddin.com and www.mpcsounds.com

ugo audio's IronHead is a good electronic synth drum machine - no samples need apply and it ain't a roland clone either.

The same type of question could be asked - Why have DimensionPro and Rapture and whatever etc. synth?

There are differences. It depends on your workflow.

To answer your questions - Guru for patterns, Battery3 added in on linear tracks.

so would you use for example stylus patterns with Battery Kits ? It that's the case they could compliment one another ? I would like to know casue I am thinking about stylus. thanks
