I realy miss the option , to switch on a grid which is synced to the snap setting ----so I dont loose focus on things if I work with 64ths audio pieces and stuff ----I miss that grid ! It was here in Sonar 7 and in 8.5 it was suddenly gone I remember ----

aim assist helps ...but its not close as good as an actual visible grid ----

and by the way --X1 now runs smoother with much less crashes ...it seems like my PC has fully "understood" X1 by now --took the little fellow ´bout one week ...nice

The grid can be turn on/adjusted under the view menu - Display in track view and View - grid resolution in PRV.  It always has been there.  Somewhere along the line you must have turned it off.

As Lorneyb2 said - it never left.  It's definitely still there, in 8.5 (which I still use) and in X1.  I agree the grid in track view is so helpful, I don't know why anybody wouldn't want it on.  You must've accidentally turned it off.

Doesn't he mean the grid in the track view...not the piano roll view?  You used to be able to have the grid synced to to the snap settings in the track view. the was a little icon on the top right of the TV to turn it on and off.

YES! there was a little square , where you also can select if you want to see the time scale in the time ruler window ----
the grid in track view ; which stays behind the clips

Its still there in the View menu of the TV.  Display-> Show Vertical Grid Lines. Then have them in front behind or none. You set the snap with the snap settings and the lines will follow.

You're right, it's gone in 8.5 and that button is gone in X1

Now before everyone tells me that I'm wrong, I believe the OP is talking about the button the Adds Musical Snap to Transient pool and not the vertical grid lines on each bar.

Here is a pic.

The switch is circled in red and the pool markers are highlighted in yellow.  This grid is set up for sixteenths.  I don't think this can be done in X1.  If it can, please give me step by step instructions because I'm not seeing it.

EDIT:  BTW, the workaround is to set your time signature to 1/16 (1/8. 1/4 etc.)  till you no longer need the grid and then set it back.   I like the old way better.
