I would also invest in a cheap audio level meter that would tell you how loud you are playing. It's an invaluable tool.

This is just an example. I'm sure you would be able to get it much cheaper where you are.

I opted for the HD681 because they are in the sonarworks plugin (which I am trying now) See Links above from my previous post.  They sound good with and without the plugin.  The plugin does seem to smooth out the rough spots.  That being said, these are not going to replace the $100 and above headphones most of you have.  It will work for me (a hobbyist who has a different day job).  I will probably go ahead and shell out the $69.00 for the plug-in.  It will also not replace experience.  This will not automatically make you into Bob Ludwig!
