GearFest is a blast.
If you're wanting to checkout a serious piece of gear, I'd try to do that Friday.
Saturday gets a bit more hectic...

as a ham radio operator a mega hamfest named the DAYTON Hamfest in Dayton, Oh in June attracts hordes
 
for Musos used to be NAMM but I think now Gearfest is the new attraction

I will be there on Saturday. Can't spare a vacation day to go Friday. Last year I was called away early when my wife broke her foot. Fortunately Craig's seminar was in the morning so I didn't miss it. I'd love to get together with any cake user for a beer, or coffee.
Just look for an old bald guy with long hair and a grey beard.
I only live 20 minutes away so I've only missed one gearfest.

Craig, I used the Gearfest app on my iPad to check out the different workshops on Friday and Saturday. I don't see anything about your workshop on Thursday. I do see it now on the Gearfest Web site, but don't remember it when I booked my flights/hotel in April.
I have a flight to Ft. Wayne getting in on Thursday evening. Would have loved to attend your workshop...
