I noticed you have a window up with almost nothing showing except mute/solo. you were using x1. Is such a window possible in X2 using track lanes? I can't get them shrunk down as far as you had them in X1.(showing mute solo only) Close but not as far.

No it's not possible to shrink the track header as much and still see mute solo, but on the plus side I can actually see the mute solo buttons now.

I have that set up as a screenset, I hope the lane height restriction both max and minimum are raised/lowered at some point.

Hold down the ctrl key and click drag sweep/swipe the area of the take lane you want to keep. All other takes in that region will be muted leaving the one you swiped as the audible one.

It's a great way to comp. See video here
Well I tried that and it works.

I wish there was a way to adjust the ends of the selection of what you soloed though. It seems that if you don't make an accurate selection on the first mouse drag, it's impossible to adjust. If you could zoom in adjust the ends of the selection it would be great.

In that situation I just ctrl+z and redo it, although as Scott points out they can be adjusted individually if need be.

You can adjust your selections, but you need to do it on a part-by-part basis. So, if you isolate a section in one lane, but the end of that selection isn't correct, move your mouse into the lane containing the other isolated data and swipe over that. Doing so will adjust the isolated data in the previous lane.

Thanks. I'll give that a try.

One thing I hope they change in X2 is the fact that the lanes can't be fully zoomed like a normal track. Makes editing for things like this hard at times.

Also, at least on my setup, if you zoom in close, it becomes hard to see where the muted part begins and the unmuted part begins.

Can the same click/hold and wave over layer to solo method be used in X2 take lanes? Or do you hit the buttons now?

Ignore. As is too typical for me, I found the solution five minutes after posting.

Oddly, this does not work at all for me on X2 (I see other people have had success with it). When I hold [CTRL] and try to drag across the track, it adjusts the gain automation, but does not highlight or any track data or mute other tracks.

Tried watching the video, but it did not see to relay the same info (got way to bogged down in preferences, click-locks, etc.)
