My thoughts exactly. If You keep wishing things were like they were in 8.5, then they can be exactly that way by using 8.5. Then maybe down the road when you have enough patience to learn the new workflow in Platinum, you can really increase your productivity.

It also looks like workspace customization is in the planning stages. Have a look at the upcoming features for a bit more information.

I wonder how much control we'll have over the new workspace feature?  Workspaces in software development tools let you control just about everything.  The idea of a consistent SONAR experience for all users could go out the window.
 
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the workspace feature.  It's fantastic in software development tools, and if done right, will be great in SONAR.
