Question, can SONAR (or any other DAW for that matter) convert the sample rate of my tracks within a project? Not talking about exporting but actually within a project? Just curious.

Yes, as soon as you bring a file into a project, it will conform to the project's sample rate. FWIW SONAR has extremely high quality sample rate conversion.

You can check out sample rate conversion quality comparisons for lots of programs here. SONAR performs very well; any artifacts are around -140 dB, which makes them essentially irrelevant. It's also interesting to note which companies have upped their game and which haven't. Live 9.03 was pretty bad, but Live 9.11 is excellent; Bitwig is one of the worst. Adobe Audition, Logic, and Audacity are among the top programs, but Cubase and Pro Tools don't fare so well.
