Strange "crash"

Every so often, when I'm working quickly in Sonar (especially when I'm trying different plugins looking for a sound), sonar will start sounding very bizarre when I press play. It's hard to describe, but it sounds sort of like my audio is being run through several spring reverbs that are being dropped from some height into a vat of glue. Sonar doesn't stop running. I can save my file and exit. Restarting Sonar takes care of the problem and everything works fine afterwards. I don't have to do anything with my interface or computer. It's more of an annoyance than a real crash where data is lost or corrupted.
Does anyone else have this happen? Can I do anything to stop it?

When that happens, have you tried "Stop audio engine" (one wave button in the transport module) and start it again?

Best guess is a buggy plugin. Try to keep track of what you add and remove right before the symptoms arise and see if you can discern a pattern.

Yes, I'm with Dan on this one.
Symptoms like this, in my experience anyway, are nearly always down to a rogue plugin.
Are you running any 32 bit plugs? I assume you're working in 64 bit

Thanks guys. I'll try those ideas.
