hi everyone, I know how strange that sounds but this is what I've got. earlier today I was having problems with my interface (roland quad-capture) so I had a tech at a well known music store remotely run my computer to try and get this fixed. however, what I've ended up with is 2 separate projects that are exactly the same, if I just delete one of them they both get deleted. am I making any sense?
I will try and upload a screenshot if you need to see what the smart screen looks like
thanks, it's been a very long day

How are you deleting the project? Via Windows?

What exactly is duplicated? Is it the entire project folder, the cwp or something else.

What you've said doesn't make sense and I've not seen this happening before

Could be you have two projects referencing the same audio files.

So if you delete one, the other won't have any audio files to play.

But like what Bristol_Jonesey said. Depends on what you mean exactly.

in sonar if you open the project, go to / save as / look at the files. those are the ones you are using.
the other file is a dupe.
however the audio, is another story.
the only true way to delete audio files from a project without screwing yourself is to use the CWAF Tool or the
Clean audio folder  tool.
that choice is yours

thank you chuck, i have a question about the clean audio folder tool, i thought that was just for getting rid of unneeded tracks, how could i delete an entire song?

you cant delete the Sonar project file with clean audio tool.
do that in explorer, just make sure its not the one you need.
like I said before, go to save as (when you have the project open).
that way you know which one it is that you need to save.
go to windows file explorer, find the other project and delete it.

but before you do this, I would use clean audio folder tool to make sure the audio files in the dupe project are not still in use.

you could also save this project to a whole new location and then just delete everything else.
that choice is yours. just make sure you save and copy all audio to that new location.

make a back up of the project, that way if you 86 something (delete) you can always have a copy.
