Either they are smarter than the average user or "much less" than the average user.

Hey, I resemble that remark!  LOL

It often makes me wonder the percentage of new users who either do not come here, or come here and leave after one interaction.

Either they are smarter than the average user or "much less" than the average user.

the "average user" is John, right? or who?

Subject to interpretation.

Arranger track - locks in tracks/makers/automation below and allows quick move or removal of entire song sections (obviously tracks/automation can be omitted from this if needed)

Good points... should also "sticky" how to properly Google these forums (simple), and/or upgrade the internal search engine (not likely).

4. Chord Track

yes - i would love to have a chord track... and maybe it can 'auto-detect' the chords either from audio or midi.

Cakewalk already has a MIDI FX for detecting chords from MIDI.

well, it would be awesome if they clarif d that commitment somehow, but it's hardly unexpected, the most tangible part of the huge announcement was the Mac alpha... Go figure!

The announcement said specifically "We’ll introduce a new, highly requested 'ripple editing' function to improve the editing workflow in SONAR. We’ll also streamline the code for better plug-in load balancing, providing optimal performance in large projects containing many plug-ins, and we’ll revamp the comping feature so take management is more user-friendly."

As someone who does arranging, uses plug-ins, and uses comping but would use it a whole lot more if it was cleaned up, those seem like pretty important places to start.

Zooming Lanes!

Could I really be the only one bothered about the minimum/maximum limits of zoom when vueing Lanes?

A severe discomfort for me ever since Lanes replaced Layers!

Please?

yea but I am talking a chord grid at the top of the rulers area, like the Navigation Bar.  This way while tracking you can see the chords as you play.  Very helpful!   Other DAWs have this chord bar.

You mean like an indication of a chord where the progression changes? I guess I never really noticed that as an issue because just about everything I do has something acidized in there somewhere, which requires entering a pitch marker. Not as elegant as doing it automatically, of course...but I see the chord progression on top of the time ruler, because the loops need that info in order to transpose automatically.

Don't forget that Strum also gives a real-time chord readout. Reminds me of following charts on studio sessions
